Astral Projection Explained

Generally speaking, the majority of people have at one point in their life heard the term ‘astral projection.’ This could’ve been from an enlightened friend, a book or a movie. Few people though understand that astral projection is a real event, and that it is something that everyone can do. Chances are very high that you have astral projected and didn’t even realize it.

First we need to understand what astral projection really is. Simply put, astral projection is the ability a person has to leave their body. This is an ability that every person has, and that every person does when they go to sleep at night. When you are a sleep our physical mind is at rest and the subconscious mind takes over. When this happens that is when a person astral projects. Most people simply don’t remember doing this.

When a person projects, they go wherever they want to go. If you were to think back to your childhood, you will probably recall being able to do this when you would go to bed, as you aged you forgot. It is possible to go anywhere, there is no such thing as time or distance when it comes to astral projection. When a person is sleeping it is the physical body that is asleep, the astral body is the one that travels.

This brings to mind the next question, what is the astral body? The astral body is the invisible duplicate of the body, commonly known as the ethereal body. It is the core of our feelings and desires. Why doesn’t the astral body leave and not come back? The astral body is tied to the physical body with a silver cord.

The silver cord first connects as the astral body enters the physical body. This is not exhausted until after death when the astral body leaves the physical body for the last time. This silver cord prevents the astral body from not returning.

You may wonder where you may go when you astral project. The astral body goes to the astral plane. It is the invisible double of the Earth. It has a faster vibration than the physical Earth and its vibrations penetrate to the center of the Earth. Some define it as another dimension of reality. However, the majority agree that there are many levels of the astral plane.

It is only natural at this point to question whether or not there are any dangers to astral projection. The answer is yes and no. We have established that astral projection is something everyone is capable of doing. We have also stated that there isn’t a way that the astral body can leave the physical body and not come back. But as with anything you do, you need to keep your head about you. This means that you need to make sure you have solid thinking skills so that you are going where you want and you know what you want.

The danger then comes when you astral project when you mind is not sound. So if a person is under the influence of alcohol or drugs they could end up in bad places. The bad places would be the lower levels of the astral plane.

The key to astral projection involves knowing what it is you are doing and where you want to go while doing it. You must have complete control of what your astral body may be doing, since your thoughts control your projection experiences.

When you prepare yourself properly, beforehand you can train yourself to astral project very quickly. Some individuals prefer doing astral projection alone in their homes. Meanwhile, others learn various methods that help them gain control and enjoy their experiences while being lead by numerous professionals in the astral projection field.

There are many books and other resources you can find online. For example, listening to a good quality astral projection hypnosis recording will create the correct state of mind needed. It will get you fully relaxed as well as going through the stages with you. The advantage of this rather than a professional session is that you can keep playing the recording several times until your subconscious mind gets the message that it is perfectly okay for you to leave your body.

Don’t get frustrated if you are not able to successfully astral project the first time or even the second or third time. This is something that you must practice. It is not an ability that you have to acquire, we are all capable of doing it, many have just forgotten how and need to fine tune the natural skill.

Are you still not so sure? Think about the last time you dreamt you were flying or felt as if you had fallen. It feels similar to flying when the astral body moves throughout the astral plane. When the astral body returns to the physical body the sensation is much like falling and landing. Astral projection is naturally very real. We can all do it and find it beneficial in many ways. A lot of people find that there are some things which are stumbling block sot them as they attempt to learn astral projecting. However, this is something which all of us can do – it’s a natural ability which every man and woman already has. Much like riding a bike, you don’t forget how; but you do have to keep in practice in order to do it well.

One major stumbling block that many people encounter is relaxation. When learning astral projecting the mind and the body have to be deeply relaxed. This can take some practice, but there are many relaxation techniques that you can employ to help your mind and body relax. There are breathing techniques and muscle relaxation techniques that you can try.

If you choose to practice your astral projecting in a relaxed environment you will have a much better chance of doing so successfully. Try the tips below in order to practice astral projecting successfully.

*Make sure that you are not wearing jewelry or other items that would be contacting your skin. (Clothes are acceptable, but for some removing clothing helps).

*Make sure that the room you are going to relax in and practice your astral projecting is dark. Dark enough so that light can not be seen through your eyelids, but you shouldn’t turn off all the lights.

*Position your body pointing from north to south, with your head at the northern end. Use the sun as your guide if you are unsure which way is north. Remember, the sun sets in the west and rises in the east.

*Make sure that the clothing you are wearing is loose and comfortable. You want to be covered so that you are warmer the you normally are but you don’t want to be hot.

*Make sure that you have a place which is quiet and where you will not be distracted as you practice your astral projecting.

*It is time to enter a state of relaxation, (this is where you want to practice your relaxation techniques.)

*Start giving yourself mental suggestions that will help you be able to remember what is happening during your session. Keeping a pen and paper close by is helpful, so that as soon as you finish your astral travels you can write down what you remember. Remembering can be enhanced by saying to yourself five times, “I will remember.”

*Use breathing techniques to bring yourself into a relaxed state.

*Focus on the blackness ahead of you as you relax.

*The next step is to place your focus on a point which lies around a foot from your forehead. Once you get your focus on this point, move it to another point which is about six feet away.

*After this, think of a line which runs perpendicular to your body from your focal point six feet away.

Using these tips will allow you to prepare for astral projecting. Remember that to get the best results you need to be in full mental control. If you do not have this control,. Your astral body will just drift directionless. You can do anything and go anywhere when you are astral projecting, so make the most of this amazing ability!

The last time you were having a dream where you were flying, you were experiencing what astral travel was like. Astral travel is the way the astral body moves about in the astral plane, and it does so by flying. You simply think about where it is you want to go and what it is you want and once your physical mind and body are asleep the subconscious mind and astral body are off to fulfill your desires.

A lot of people confuse astral travel with dreaming. When we dream, what happens is that our minds try to process the happenings of the day that could not be resolved in our waking lives. How To Astral Project Your Ethereal Body

Each and every human being is born with the ability to astral project. The only difference between those who can astral project at will and those who cannot is practice. Astral projection is a technique which has a very long history, just as do yoga and meditation. Astral projection goes by a lot of different names; and there are a lot of different ways you can astral project.

Lucid dreaming, for example is a form of astral projection. You already know what lucid dreaming is – this is when you are conscious within a dream and able to direct the course of the dream. This takes practice to do reliably, but it is as simple as saying to yourself ‘I am dreaming’ while you are in the middle of a dream.

When you do this you will wake up within your dream and you will be free to do what you want in the dream. For beginners this can be too random a practice to successfully astral project.

You need to accept the fact that astral projection will work. It is something that happens to everyone, you are just not aware of it. Have you awakened from a dream still fresh in your mind, which seems as though you really lived the experience? These dreams are an actual experience of astral projection.

It is very important to have confidence that you can astral project. This will ensure you have a better chance of being successful at having an astral projection experience.

Learn some good meditation and relaxation techniques; these will make it easier for you to astral project. Meditation will get your mind and body ready for the experience of astral projection. Start practicing relaxation and meditation routines you like to get prepared.

Find a quite place to relax, a comfortable chair or lie down, making sure you will not be interrupted. Clear your mind of all thoughts, picture a blank screen. Pay attention to your breathing, take slow deep breathes. Imagine all your troubles leaving your body when you breathe out. This will put you in a deeply relaxed state that will enable you to astral project.

Your focus should remain on your breathing. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. As you become more relaxed, your breathing will become deeper and slower.

Starting from your toes and working your way up, relax each part of your body. There are two ways you can do this. One is to tense, then relax each part of your body as you move upwards, the other is to visualize the tension leaving each part of your body as you exhale.

The best way to describe what you are going to feel is ‘heavy’ it is going to feel as though all of the energy and tension is slipping away from each part of your body. You will know it when it happens. Once you have relaxed each part of your body it is time for you to move to the next step that is going to help you astral project.

Your body and your mind will be completely relaxed and it would be very easy to fall asleep, but don’t! To stay alert, you can repeat a phrase to yourself. It doesn’t matter what this phrase is – it could be as simple as ‘walk the dog, walk the dog’.

Your mind may want to drift off and cause thoughts to start flowing through it. You do not want this to happen. You need to keep your focus on a phrase to keep these thoughts out. You will have to end the session and start over if you lose your focus.

There are a few different ways you can reach the kind of altered state required for astral projection. You can keep repeating your phrase until you reach it, or use the ‘body of light’ method, where you visualize yourself transforming into a body made of light.

There are three signs which will let you know that you are successfully astral projecting. One is that you’ll experience a sensation of motion, followed by seeing light and color even though your eyes will be closed. Finally, you’ll hear voices urging you either to continue or to stop what you are doing – this is a surefire sign that you have managed to astral project.
