Stylish Mirrors For Decoration

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Does a particular type of mirror have an effect on the way a place looks. Would not one mirror look just the same as a décor mirror? The answer is NO, a plain mirror and a decorative mirror will not bring about the same effect to a place.

A plain mirror will change the appearance of the place but a decorative mirror will brighten up the environment. I spend just a little bit more time in the bathroom than the average person. I have beautiful full length mirror than I love looking into as I bath. Besides helping me check myself out, it helps me relax and think things through. You should be able to get some good decorative mirrors for your home from anyone of the following: antique mirror, unframed mirrors, arched floor mirrors

Alternatively install one in your bedroom. Two options are available to you here. You can have full length side mirror or get a nice overhead mirror that looks down on you whilst you sleep. Some of these ideas you just have to try to be able to appreciate the beauty they bring to a place. Another option is fitting a mirror in your living room. Fitted in the right place, they will make the place look bigger and as if it has more furniture.

Decorative mirrors can be placed in various places around the home. having it in the passage way will have a welcoming effect on your guests, in the other passages in your house just to add more life to it. Your house should really be a relaxing and comfortable environment and you can achieve this effect by putting some really stylish mirrors in your place.

Mirrors are not only limited to decorating the house only. They can be installed in your business and there they can serve you two purposes. They will make the place look nice and we all know they are an effective security measure. For those that have offices and businesses I recommend putting one in your reception area.

Most people are of the idea that decorative mirrors are unnecessary and cost a lot of money. My response to that is a plain mirror belongs in a plain house. After going through all the trouble of getting your home to look nice decorative mirrors are just the finish the place needs.

You might not have been aware too but these so called plain mirrors are made of a lower quality glass than decorative mirrors which is more fragile and more likely to break. So a decorative mirror is about more than just beauty, there is an element of strength and durability to think about.

A decorative mirror can be put in any place in your house. There is just no limit to the number of things that you can do with a mirror. Most importantly it brightens what would otherwise have been a boring environment. The bigger the better, it is amazing just how much beauty a large full length mirror brings to place. This is just one of those things you have to try out for yourself and you’ll love the result.

Decorative mirrors can be put up anywhere. Some people limit this aspect of mirrors to their homes but it can be placed anywhere. You can put one inside any of the businesses that you run, it will not attract customers to your place but will allow you to keep the ones you have. People love doing business in a pleasant environment and a decorative mirror usually sticks in a person’s mind. It might even be for your office. There is no real monetary reward that you get but its all about creating an atmosphere. Even in your home you can place the mirror anywhere it doesn’t have to be in the living room only. You might have one in the passage ways, in the bathroom, in your bedroom or in most of your rooms. It is not something to think about but something to definitely try.

Do You Need To Clean A Cloudy Mirror

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

I have met a number of people who are having trouble with cleaning their mirrors that have become cloudy and today I want to try and help you in that regard.

If you have, say, a full length mirror and is now worn out and cloudy one thing I can say is that you are together with millions of others across the globe. I have been there; I can bet that you neighbour has owned one too. Like me at some point, you might have tried everything you can to clean it to no avail.

Now what if you do not want to replace it for one reason or the other? How do you go about cleaning it? As a antique decorative mirrors expert I know a few tricks on how you can do this effectively. These suggestions can apply to all kinds including unframed, oversized, compact, large including bathroom floor length mirror.

You can simply clean them with some water. Warm or hot water would do the job just fine. Keep the water pure i.e. without adding any additives. This can work pretty well on a plexy glass.

Also try using some vinegar and a newspaper to wipe of the cloudiness. If it was once cleaned with some oily or greasy stuff then this could work quite well.

Another alternative is to use spray cleaners like Windex or something similar. Spray cleaners work well generally well for some bathroom wall mirrors and not for others. So you should not despair if that particular spray does not work on your mirror.

If all these tips fail then it probably means there are other reasons why it does not respond. For example, if the problem lies with the silver on the back of the mirror then trying to clean it will not work . You can get it re-silvered but I would recommend you let go of it and find a new one – unless of course it has some sentimental value attached to it.
